Hi there, I'm Laken!

I'm a digital creator based in Cape Town, South Africa.

I am lover of flapjacks(drenched in all the maple syrup I can find), good coffee and anything that involves fitness, dance or an outdoor adventure. I'm self taught with a great passion for sincere people, beautiful spaces, fresh food and beautiful light.

I love keeping things simple in life and on set/location as I always find it produces the best results with the least stress. 

On any given day you will either find me creating and photographing something delicious in the kitchen or somewhere outdoors, running after my two very busy kiddies, at our crossfit box breaking a sweat with my hubby, teaching a dance class or spending time with my family and the Word of God.

What you will find here in my little corner of the internet are stories of love, food pictures that bring joy to faces, and raw, real moments captured in beautiful settings. You and your family is the most important thing in the world, and I know you want portraits you can treasure and hold close to your heart for the rest of your life. So you can forget awkward posing in a studio setting, I am here to capture you, your vision and your loved one/s in a gorgeous outdoor/indoor location where you can relax while I snap away- all while having fun! No matter the size of the project or what your vision is, I always bring the same passion and dedication to each shoot and I make it my priority to make sure everyone goes home happy.
